Emily Taylor is pleased to present her new picture book for kids. This easy reading book for children contains fun facts about San Francisco and its colorful history.
This delightful picture book is written for children ages 4 to 10. It contains a variety of information about San Francisco, including the Gold Rush, Chinatown, and cable cars. It’s illustrated with great graphic images. It offers interesting facts in simple language. Although the material appropriate for these ages, younger children will need some help. They will enjoy the book most by sharing it with a parent.
Students will encounter new words and concepts. They'll read about the the foundation of the old town of Yerba Buena, the forerunner of San Francisco. They’ll read about Italian fishermen singing in the foggy Bay. They’ll also learn about the prison at Alcatraz, which no prisoner managed to escape. Other subjects in the book include the San Francisco earthquake of 1906, and the devastation it caused.
Most of the book’s images are colored photographs. These are most effective when read on a Fire, or the Application on a tablet device, or PC. They can be viewed clearly on black and white readers. Only the color dimension is lacking.
Children will also find answers to kid-style questions.

Teachers and home schooling parents will find this book a wonderful addition to their nonfiction libraries. It provides selected passages on an assortment of subjects. This would be especially helpful to read before your family visits San Francisco, which is certainly one of the most fascinating cities in the world. I appreciated the emphasis on multi-culturalism and how different groups have contributed to the city's growth and prosperity. I think I would have included a bit about Haight-Ashbury and it's importance in the 1960's. Most kids are familiar with "hippies" and this might be a talking point with grandparents! Very worthwhile kid's book.Product details

This a good book! It is interesting. I liked to learn about San Francisco it is a good state.
